  • collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation
  • communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats
  • model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning

Wikis in Education

I chose the website “Code Blue.” I believe this website would be valuable to my classroom. It includes facts, visuals, games and videos.

I teach the anatomy of the skeleton, ear, brain, lungs, teeth and heart. In this website, I like how these facts are presented. The web also offers science, art, animal and music games. This would be an asset to my science curriculum.

IEARN Collaboration

I reviewed the IEARN collaboration. I was amazed and impressed at the global education and interaction it was providing to students. Students and teachers from around the globe were working together online and making a difference in the world. Through their projects, students were learning new skills and respect for other cultures. I especially liked the Daffodil Project. That is a project I would like to use in my room.

My Reflection on meeting this standard (So What?)

The artifacts on this page reflect that I have learned how to promote learning and improve class projects through digital tools.

My Future Learning Goals related to this standard (Now What?)

In the future I would like to use digital tools to relay information to my students and parents. I would also like to find what technology tools meet the needs of
different types of learners.
